Pour one out for the dozen remaining Twitter engineers, chained to their H1-B visas, forced to spend their 4-day weekend implementing and then correcting for all of Elon's dumbest ideas.
@evacide The funniest thing is that apparently they are DDoS:in themselves with these changes, because forced login leads for loops of fetching content which is never acquired.
Scale this to every instance or use-case in the world which used to show Tweets without logging in.
@maswan@evacide “As of July 16th 2023, H1-B holders in the US and their accompanying immediate family members will be eligible to apply to come to Canada. The approved applicants will receive an open work permit for up to three years, which means they can work for almost any employer in Canada.”
@evacide it's kind amazing that twitter's garbage management not only ruins the day of twitter staff, but also apparently every other social media site's weekend as well. I've seen devs for Bluesky & Mastodon make posts that amount to "Elon ruined my weekend, again" and with instagram's auth being flaky, even Meta's SREs are having a bad weekend.
