LittleJanelle,

This is what I’m saying! “As is pretty much always the case in these situations, it’s the enthusiasts who truly value variety and eclecticism who will miss out, as they are cast aside in an appeal to the masses who consume whatever the media giants tell them to consume.”

@LittleJanelle @GPHemsley I'm not quite making a prediction but I would not be shocked to see video rental stores making a comeback at some point.

maegul,

@misc @LittleJanelle @GPHemsley is I’ve found one local to me. Great collection. You forget what it’s like to browse a good collection rather than try to find something good.

I haven’t really been watching films lately, but once I pick it up again I’ll definitely be hitting that place up.

@maegul @LittleJanelle @GPHemsley Bit of sad irony is that my favorite rental place as a kid was one of the first to go, but also I think a model to how I imagine them coming back. Hollywood Express was an experience. Every genre section was decorated to the nines. Cobwebs and styrofoam gravestones in Horror, a King Kong climbing the action section. And the best collection of obscure stuff. Killed by Blockbuster before their time.

LittleJanelle,

@misc I’ve heard a few people saying this same thing
