With the 25% off sale, their blu-rays are just about at reasonable, bullshit-free prices. Now, if only they’d announce a sale.

ONCE AGAIN: companies DO NOT GIVE ONE FUCK & will treat the Things you love w/ disdain & zero respect. ALL THEY CARE ABOUT IS PROFIT and that means most will eventually fail, because their goals are not sustainable.

They don't want you to realize the lie of "buying" something digitally, which is: you don't REALLY own SHIT.

Strongly tempted to order Criterion's Straw Dogs almost solely for the special features, which look to be many and interesting. It's not a film I enjoy much, unfortunately, though I count myself a Peckinpah admirer. I'd be buying it out a sort of scholarly interest. https://www.criterion.com/films/730-straw-dogs

Just finished the 3rd Blu-ray of Outlander S4 and it's just so full of secrets, rapes and stupidity that I'm not going to look for or purchase S5. Also it's licentious. And the characters are irresponsible. Nyah.

Now I'm going to Sarah's Key (2010), directed by Gilles Paquet-Brenner, starring Kristin Scott-Thomas. It, like Outlander is a story told in two times. But there's no time travel, just a story being researched about some Nazi event in 1942 Paris.

Buddy found the whole year of OMNI Magazine from 1981 for me!

I had a subscription to OMNI in high school that only ended when they went online-only.

I'm VERY excited to go through these.

Tired of Streaming? Free Blockbuster Libraries Offer an Alternative. 📀 🍿 🎬

The neighborhood lending libraries have popped up around North America, offering a nostalgic return to DVDs.

Shortly after Free Blockbuster was launched, a lawyer for DISH Network, which now owns the Blockbuster brand, sent Mr. Morrison a letter asking he stop using the company’s logo and name.

Trying an post.

Hello there. I'm just looking for a place to hangout and post about all my interests and thought I'd give Mastodon a shot.

I'm a big movie, TV and anime fan, and I also have a passion for music, video games, and the usual array of nerdy shenanigans.

I like to get lost in other worlds, such as and even the grimdark future that is .

I collect and enjoy reading a bit from time to time as well.

In today's "be sure to own actual digital or physical copies of your stuff" news, Sony claims it's offering subs "appropriate value" for deleting their digital libraries.

NEVER rely on companies to keep stuff. They do NOT care, and your stuff will be gone.

You gotta do it yourself.

Grab it and put it on your computer or a thumb drive.

Little MDMRN (turning 15 in May) has gotten into cassettes lately. My parent's got them, effectively, a Walkman with a built in speaker. They've been blasting their one cassette, Tally Hall's "Marvin's Marvelous Mechanical Museum" for a while.

I ordered them the Celeste soundtrack on cassette. I told them about it because it was supposedly 3 weeks out.

It's already shipping. They'll get it in less than a week from when I ordered it.

So, that's fun.
