@prokoudine @GIMP I was referring to it being the last version to support GTK3 but somebody else explaining that GTK3 and GTK4 can exist side by side without causing problems.

@ablackcatstail Well this is GTK+3, not 4.

Also even if it were GTK4, maybe Cinnamon and MATE would not use it this version, but it doesn't mean that it can't be installed on your OS (same as v2 and v3 can be installed side-by-side, so can v4).

Last point: GIMP is cross-platform and we care a lot about compatibility on as many platforms as possible. So don't worry. We won't break GIMP working on various desktops (it should work on all Linux desktops!). Or at least, not on purpose! 😜
