It's #NationalSandwichDay, apparently, @fkamiah17 tells me - I'm not sure what happened to the other 364 sandwich days - and for my tea, I had roast beef, fried onions and pepper sauce on freshly baked, still warm rye bread. And very nice it was too.
You know those cheap barely-flavoured tortilla chips in the supermarket? Put them in any hot sandwich. Crunch makes every sandwich better. Trust me on this. #sandwiches
Hello Beige! And hello to everyone else. I've moved around the corner from neurodifferent.me, and it's time for an #Introduction
Sandwiches. #Sandwiches. Sandwiches! I'm bringing some sandwiches to Beige Party. Let me know what you want. Not tuna, though, if you want a tuna sandwich you can make your own.
Other than that, hmm, I'm an #autistic#Welsh person who lives in beautiful #Tynedale, and I spend my working time fiddling about with emergency #healthcare#data to improve care quality in the #NHS. I have issues with #anxiety and #loneliness, and I'm an abuse survivor. And I'm also lazy, so I copypasted that from previous introductions.
Some other things:
politics: left, handwringing lefty liberal social democrat wokeista etc;
great love: #trees and #woodland, I do volunteer work in my local #woods;
I'm obviously very fond of #SilentCinema;
fascinated by: #birds (but I'm hopeless at identifying them), #cricket (especially #CountyCricket and #Durham), #tea; #gardening, at which I am a total novice and trying to learn; oh, and football, which is #Gateshead. There are no other Gateshead fans on fedi. Prove me wrong. You can't.
Also, very glad to not be part of a #cult. No cults here. Absolutely not.
And I promise that this is the last time I will put hashtags in the middle of the post rather than all at the beginning or end. I think hashtags in the middle is permitted for an introduction, or I hope so anyhow.
I've just been reminded about sandwiches, and I meant to post earlier:
I really struggle with eating out. But I was committed to doing so on my holiday this year (well, technically I already did when I stopped over in London before coming out here, but in France too). It may be my last day today, but I went out and had sandwich et frites for lunch.
Yes, I know you're probably thinking I'm in semi-rural France, I should've gone to a nice traditional neighbourhood bistro. But that is way beyond me. And a sandwich with frites is traditionally French, very much so. Nothing wrong with that.
Plus the place I went to is very popular (I managed to get there just before all the working people on their lunch breaks arrived). So I think I've done what I intended to do.
Oh, and it was delicious, and the server was very considerate of my bad French.
And I sat on the beach for a bit on my way back. Full of sandwich, full of frites.
