A solar-to-hydrogen facility with a capacity of 12 gigawatts will be built in Mozambique by Jearrard Energy Resources and its subsidiaries in the first quarter of the upcoming year. The primary objective of this project is to meet the rising demand for eco-friendly energy solutions by generating approximately 4,000 tonnes of hydrogen.
According to the Operational Director, Johann Kamp, similar projects are on the agenda for the South African market. These ventures are scheduled to commence between the third quarter of 2024. The proposal entails establishing solar plants equipped with electrolysers to generate hydrogen, aiming to foster the growth of the South African economy through increased tax revenues and job opportunities....
By harnessing solar energy to produce hydrogen, the facility will contribute to the reduction of carbon emissions and support the promotion of sustainable development practices.
