I'd add another thing about this episode, @thecommongreen. Dumfries doesn't need a Town Board. A Town Board is a profoundly anti-democratic idea, and we shouldn't support it. In my ideal world Dumfries would self organise as a small number of communes, but in achievable near term reality what Dumfries needs is a Burgh Council, as it used to have.
