I need to reinstate my gratitude practice, because it definitely helps to end the day by thinking about things that went well. So I’m going to try and post my #3goodthings before I head for bed each night.
Familiar, comforting sounds all morning from the landscaping project next door (we remodeled everything in our first home). I think today is redwood deck day.
Also the day of tiny flying things - bumblebee, hummingbird, dragonfly, butterfly - in my garden. (Oleanders at their peak bloom, below.)
Clean house, clean sheets, & I still don’t have to cook, thank you taco soup. Another blissful Thursday.

2️⃣ - got some advanced french books to study, in hopes of unlocking that part of my brain (all my schooling, k-12 was in french and haven’t spoken it to anyone since)
3️⃣ - the general sentiment here in the #Fediverse that the internet, as it is, sucks a big fat one but we can build things and work together to make it better. that shit is punk af and i’m here for it.
My lovely spouse’s #birthday today, and attempts to make it special (in spite of a request for no gifts and us both being too caught up in life stuff to plan much together) apparently were well received.
Kiddo’s illustrations on cards for each of us were funny and expressive and pretty sophisticated for a 14yo. More proud dad moments!
Permitted to sit in fave salon for last 20 minutes of 320-minute wait for car maintenance, offered coffee, received free trim! Rewarded stylist with recipe for homemade lemonade.
A new recipe I trust because I've made several by the cookbook writer and enjoyed as I had ingredients for everything was just right for time and energy constraints and turned out delicious.

I’m a big fan of Aussie film/tv and of actor Simon Baker - found two newish movies of his: “Limbo,” which was EXCELLENT, and “Blaze” which I saved to watch today. Yay. 🍿🍿

My administration staff meeting went so far off the rails, I didn't even care where the rails were anymore.
I set up a NextCloud instance and threw everything from Google Drive and One Drive in, and set up Ubuntu. Still a lot of tuning to do, but I like it.

And even though I pushed the wrong button twice, I did actually manage to record enough to share with family.
Celebration (bribe) sushi afterwards was so yummy.
(Kiddo was adamant about not playing in public. Hence Monday evening sushi restaurant visit. Also got to choose own music - their rendition of a #TobyFox song from #Undertale was definitely a 4th good thing for the evening! Bribes were also treats to us!)
