Congratulated myself on unaccustomed patience when the hammer people began work next door at 7 a.m.
Grandson came to visit and is this minute running an errand for me (which includes ice cream).
Saw “my” hummingbird for the first time in a couple of weeks. Everything is in bloom and he must be sampling it all & skipping his feeder here. Today’s flyover mallard count: 🦆🦆🦆
Spectacular thunder storm. Good for my newly planted out vegetable plants.
Tiny seedlings of honesty have all been pricked out and have pots of their own. Looking forward to flowers next year and those lovely silvery seed heads.

a friend is delighted with the card I made for them. I put it in the post yesterday afternoon and they received it this morning, which is much sooner than I expected. Getting a card to them before their birthday is a bonus.

Lazy, pleasant day even if it did include my monthly trek to the salon.
Today the two regular mallards were joined by a third on their zoom run over the yard. If this expansion continues, I’ll have a flock of 33 in a month. 😱
A few of the petunias I planted for color outside my slider, and my view from my permanent seat on the couch. (All reasons I rarely leave the house.)

Re-landscaping construction continues next door keeping me inside, but also reminding me how precious is this neighborhood’s silence 99% of the time.
My roses are resting, but all jasmine & oleanders are in full bloom, and a couple of crape myrtle blossoms have appeared. (Pics below only show a portion of plants.)
Amazingly good & amazingly easy homemade wor won ton soup last night, with leftovers for tonight.
Still exhausted from the last dinner I’ll ever host, but everything is cleaned up, including the dirty dishes I put away neatly in the cupboards. 🤬 (I thought I ran the dishwasher; it must have been a Vicodin dream.)
Granddaughter took the family’s first dip into NC son’s new pool, in the rain.
Vagabond son & DIL hiked 4 miles into Bryce Canyon at 8000’ elevation. Got some great photos & survived. Also survived the motorcycle ride to the national park.
