Iconfactory, to design
@Iconfactory@iconfactory.world avatar

One of our favorite parts of the work we do at the Iconfactory is to design emoji. Founder @gedeonm was recently interviewed about the design process behind the emoji you probably use and love every single day. https://panorama.ro/how-emojis-conquered-online-communication-designers/

If you need emoji or iconography for your project or business, be sure to check us out, we'd love to work together. 🙂 👍

odin,

@gedeonm @Iconfactory I suppose the optimistic take is that AI’s shortcomings continue to underscore the importance of real design work. Except, how many will decide AI is “good enough” (even when it really isn’t)?

gedeonm,
@gedeonm@mastodon.social avatar

@odin @Iconfactory Way too many.

Any Nim or Julia people out there that also do app development? Can I get some ✋?

mo8it,
@mo8it@fosstodon.org avatar

@gregorni I just tried it, Letterpress is a very good app made by you :D

ProtonUp is the example that I found in my installed apps. It is not representative and my average impression of Python apps is rather subjective.

I don't have an experience with C# apps on Linux.

gregorni,
@gregorni@fosstodon.org avatar

@mo8it Basically all C# apps are in the Nickvision group. The ones I'm aware of are Cavalier, Denaro and Parabolic.

Throwing this out to the network. I’m very new to SwiftUI, and I wanted to dabble a bit Vision OS handling.

When previewing in simulator, “selecting” on the navigation view items cause this rounded effect inside.

Is this normal? Or am I missing something here?

michaelsteeber,
@michaelsteeber@mastodon.social avatar

@soares hard to say without seeing the code, but you might need to adjust your contentshape for the button. https://developer.apple.com/documentation/swiftui/view/contentshape( It’s related to the behavior of the Hover Effect: https://developer.apple.com/documentation/swiftui/view/hovereffect(_:)

@adamsdesk That sounds excellent! Thank-you. I'll try it.

@GinevraCat You're welcome, I hope it helps.

Low-code/no-code platforms may become more accessible and powerful due to the advancement of artificial intelligence, which may result in more automation in code writing.

Three main ways AI is being incorporated into low-code platforms:

1st - there are generative AI capabilities that are designed to improve the developer experience.

2nd - there are generative AI capabilities targeting the end users of the application created using low code.

3rd - there are features related to process improvement.

While playing around with new iOS 17 features for the iPhone 15, remember to maintain compatibility with older iOS versions. Do this with the compiler directive to maintain compatibility while still getting around to the awesome iOS 17 APIs

@MartianCraft This is a good example for inline code. It works well with a protocol which can span multiple releases.

See the package linked below which supports using Reachability for older releases and Network for more current releases.
