Star Wars Theory Explains Exactly How Thrawn's Night Troopers Came Back To Life (Fitting Canon Rules) (screenrant.com)

Grand Admiral Thrawn can have his Night Troopers brought back to life through resurrection after Ahsoka, and an intriguing Star Wars theory explains how this fits within the established canon. Thrawn's legion of undead troopers at his disposal significantly raises the stakes in his coming war against the New Republic, but at...

But if you haven’t seen (I assume) Rebels, nearly all the big emotional moments fall flat.

Had high hopes for but apart from a few cool scenes, it was sadly just a load of overblown nonsense 4/10 from me ☹️

It’s rare we see the divided fan base agree on anything but it seems the majority loved the character. He had a presence, a look, and for the first time in a while for Disney, we believed. Last nights was his beautiful send off.

It was good! Hmm, but now more questions than answers 🤔

atobsmith,
@atobsmith@mastodon.social avatar

@rm4 more questions than answers is a great summary. I felt like this season was a wonderful story that ended in a swap at best. Baylan and Shin’s stories are unwritten and Morgan Elsbeth’s character was wasted. Lots of open ended questions and season 2 can’t come fast enough.

Star Wars Finally Admits George Lucas' Biggest Jedi & Sith Criticisms Are Right (screenrant.com)

Star Wars has admitted some of George Lucas' biggest criticisms about the Jedi and Sith in a tremendous way. Through the new Ahsoka show and Lord Baylan Skoll (Ray Stevenson), the new Force-sensitive mercenary and his apprentice Shin Hati (Ivanna Sakhno) have debuted as neither Jedi Knights nor Dark Lords of the Sith. This is...

: Episode 5 Is Getting a Limited Theatrical Release”

WHUUUUUUUT!?!?

I just learned about this from one of my nephews. We just finished an hour-long phone nerd-out over the first 4 episodes, and he dropped this little factoid on my plate.

I want to go to there.

But will it be in ?!?!

Star Wars: Ahsoka Doubles Down On Force User Controversy From Sequels (www.msn.com)

However, the most recent Ahsoka episode has tread on some new territory as it doubles down on a bit of lore that originates from director Rian Johnson's Star Wars: The Last Jedi, a film from the sequel trilogy that has been a subject of contention within the fanbase and one that Johnson has had to defend the more goofy aspects...

I’m enjoying a little more with Ep 3. Fun action. I didn’t watch Clone Wars or Rebels, so I’m sure there is a lot I’m missing.

I thought some of the “A New Hope” callbacks were a little on the nose, but I didn’t mind them at all (e.g., Force training with the blast helmet, rookie in the tail gunner spot).

What I’ve really enjoyed about The Mandalorian, Obi-Wan Kenobi, and is the small nods that are consistently made to A New Hope (and less often to Empire Strikes Back). I want to believe the story developers deliberately included small details from the original films for people like me that were blown away in their theater seats way back when.

Bonus for Ashoka appears to be the use of John Williams music (or inspired by Williams) - it’s inclusion is subtle but spot on.

On a scale of one to Andor - how good is Ashoka?

nfd, to Starwars

😖 is the new MCU(?)

I wish every plot didn't need to tie back to some animated series or connect to the Skywalkers somehow. I’ve never seen Rebels.

♥️ Andor, Rogue One, and S1 of The Mandalorian are great because they don't have baggage but add to the lore.

Star Trek has historically been better about letting it's series be standalone while sharing a universe, subtle nods and occasional cross-overs make it feel rich. 🖖

https://www.engadget.com/ahsoka-review-star-wars-disney-193023619.html

nfd,

I think Episode 2 of Ashoka was better than 1. I can see why they released 1 & 2 together. My original concern about the heavy Rebels tie-in still remains but is slowly diminishing.

To spite the mostly female cast, my partner is skeptical that she’ll stick with it… She enjoyed Andor the most and The Mandalorian to a lesser degree.
