1940 Woody

I have always loved seeing old woodies as a kid and I enjoy seeing them now more than ever. To me, adding wood to the exterior of a car gave it a character that hasn't been seen since.
I found this beautiful example at a car show in Harbor Springs, Michigan. This car was immaculate, and I can only imagine the work and maintenance that a car like this requires.

Sacramento Valley Veterans Cemetary

The Sacramento Valley Veterans Cemetery Is located between the cities of Vacaville and Dixon about half hour west of Sacramento.
All of these men and women that are buried here sacrificed their time to support this country.
This image was taken just before Memorial Day when volunteers spend hours placing flags next to each headstone.

Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore is a 42 mile stretch on the southern shore of Lake Superior outside of Munising Michigan.
The best way to see the beauty of Pictured Rocks to travel in one of the tour boats out of Munising.

Pictured Rocks

Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore lies on the southern shore of Lake Superior outside of Munising, Michigan. There are miles of trails to hike, beaches to lie on, and of course, Lake Superior to swim in if you dare.
The best way to visit the park is to get out on the water by boarding one of the commercial boats that operate in the area.

Lake Tahoe Shoreline

One my most favorite spots in Northern California and quite possibly the world is Lake Tahoe. It doesn't matter to me the season as I can handle the snow in the winter and the heat in the summer. I captured this image late in the afternoon on a summer day.
There is a real calming affect sitting here along the shoreline. See the full image here. https://pixels.com/featured/lake-tahoe-shoreline-bill-gallagher.html

Highrise Ceiling II

When viewing and editing photographs I look for different ways to present an image, showing it in a way that is unique.
In this case I came across this image of a skyscraper that is located in the downtown San Francisco. By flipping the image 180 degrees I came up with an image that has this perspective as if you were bending over backwards to view the building.

Balloons In The Desert

Balloons In The Desert was captured early in the morning with low summer light. This lighting made the balloon colors pop against the clear blue sky. The quality of light brought out the desert background and blended nicely with the yellows/golds of the balloons.
It wasn't long after this that the balloons took to the sky. See the full image here: https://pixels.com/featured/balloons-in-the-desert-bill-gallagher.html

37 Chevy Pickup

My love for old restored hot rods has been with me as far back as I remember. I don't often get time to go to car shows for my own enjoyment.
I recently had the chance to go to a show and I really enjoyed myself. Here we have a 1937 restomod Chevy Pickup. The paint on this truck was immaculate as was all of the other restoration work involved to turn out this beauty.

I came across this little gem on Oahu's North Shore.
One of the things I enjoy about the islands are the small stores, food trucks, and food stands found along some of the rural highways and roads.
I love all of the colors on the outside of the building, between the colorful license plates, Hawaiian shirts, and the floral print dresses, colors were everywhere. https://fineartamerica.com/featured/north-shore-antique-bill-gallagher.html

Waikiki Beach From Diamond Head

While traveling to Honolulu I just had to take the hike to the top of Diamond Head.
The view from the top is worth every step to get there. The wide open views of the Pacific facing the west. To the south on a clear day you can see the islands of Molokai, Maui, and Lanai. To the north is Honolulu and Waikiki Beach.

Northshore Congestion

While in Hawaii I went out to the Northshore of Oahu to see the famed Pipeline
The wind was blowing from the wrong direction so the Pipeline was a bust. We grabbed a lunch. and ended up on Haleiwa Ali Beach.
As it turns out, some of the best surfers in the world happened to be out riding on these magnificent waves. See the full image here: https://pixels.com/featured/northshore-congestion-bill-gallagher.html

Or maybe in this case, Air Rider. Either way, this surfer, and many others, out on Oahu's Northshore was simply amazing.
The waves were large and the action was non-stop. At times, 3 or 4 surfers trying for the same wave.
In this image one of the surfers, caught in midair, is trying to land a 360.See the full image here: https://pixels.com/featured/wave-rider-bill-gallagher.html

Titus Canyon
Titus Canyon in Death Valley National Park is an amazing section of the park that has so much to see along the way.

After taking a very enjoyable, somewhat nerve-wracking drive through Titus Canyon the road comes to an end. No this isn't the end but seems to be as you approach the cliff walls that are close to vertical.
Titus Canyon changes from a beautiful wide canyon and winds its way through a nearly vertical slot canyon.

Maroon Bells had always been on my bucket list. This mountain landscape is truly a wonderful hiking destination.
I was able to time the trip almost perfectly for the fall color season. The aspen trees were dressed in their best fall colors and the big puffy clouds in the sky kept the afternoon cool.

Unattended Children
I found this sign at a small winery in Apple Hill, located in the foothills of the Sierra Nevadas in Northern California.
My wife and I had been visiting at the winery and during our tastings we had been chatting with the sommelier and he had a good sense of humor. On the way outside to view the property I noticed this sign and thought it was cute.

Game Of Kings

I was able to watch a Polo match while on a recent trip to Northern Michigan. I never watched polo before and found the sport to be interesting although I admit that I didn't fully understand the rules.
The basic are pretty simple, hit the ball with a mallet, while riding a pony on a grass field, with the ultimate placement of the ball is between the goal post.
