How could #Apple increase market share, because it does seem they got the demand but not everyone has $1000 to just throw at them. With all the money they made off their hardware the last decade surely they could start introducing $300 Iphones. $300 mac's In their line ups. Or maybe $400 if $300 is to low to price them. Work with people then their market share would go up.
@emi They do have their iPhone SE line, which does start at $429.
From the leaked Bill of Materials #BOM, the cost to produce for example the iPhone SE 2022 is about $230. That doesn't include their R&D, marketing and other costs. Fighting on price would be a difficult battle when a Xiaomi, Oppo, or Vivo, is significantly cheaper to make. And there's still Samsung fighting desperately at that price range.
They've instead chosen to invest more on the ultra-premium market, adding even more Pro models to their lineup. They've chosen that battle ever since the iPhone pricetag kept creeping up.
My family members that are iPhone-only users bought the SE from 2020 this year instead of the $429 latest model. It'd also be hard to convince android users to make the switch to an SE model as it's quite the downgrade.
