The Code Llama 34b model isn't half bad! Been toying around with it integrated into clion having it explain my own code to me and generate small functions and it's been so far around 90% successful, with most of the errors being minor, the bug detection does have a decent amount of false positives though. I also like that it's aware enough of api's to give doc links

Bonus points for it going off on a tangent once on why console applications are better than gui.

Me: I should check out different models to see how efficiently they could improve my workflow.

Every time I paste code in Nova, it tries to run some “Code Cleanup” tool, and I can’t figure out why. I have to undo it because it keeps changing many of the lines in the file I’m working in.

I don’t know what setting controls this, or how it got turned on. Maybe it’s a bug in “Nova?” This is my first time using it, and it’s still in “beta.”

What plugins should I install in to make it have the same features as ? When I open C source files, IDEA doesn’t recognize the symbols (macros, functions, variables, etc.) or link them to their declarations. How do I get that to work?

The integration in is awesome! It really helped me diagnose a crash and fix a deadlock condition in !

Switching back-and-forth between and for the same project (so I can use intellisense and syntax highlighting on .php and .phpt files) is a pain in the ass, and for some reason, it corrupts the .idea folder, so I have to keep deleting it and letting the IDEs recreate it.

My thoughts on the new jetbrains UI in a nutshell.

(if you haven't seen it, it's your standard modern "we hid everything 3 levels deep in menus to make it look pretty!" modern design)

As a long, LONG term customer I swear I'll drop them in an instance and write my own IDE if I have to if this ever stops being optional....

After trying out for a few days I have to say... I'm not impressed! I expected bugs and crashes but there's a very persistent issue I've faced, even from the days.

If you add a dependency to your project... you need to restart the IDE for it to recognize it and provide suggestions.

What year is it?

Support for @zephyr in IDE is really neat, especially when it comes to : thread awareness, dedicated view to inspect peripherals, and more. A full tutorial will soon be added to the main documentation, so watch out for it!

A screencast showing the CLion IDE being used for debugging a Zephyr RTOS application.

I like this new feature in that allows to customize the project header color and icon.

Very useful when you work with multiple projects at the same time!

appears to choke when using too many macros in a source file. 😳

I used it when I was busy with my course. All of the software has advanced debugging tools.

So I used for , for C++ and for . It allowed me to debug connections and relationships in data structures.

Today, I wouldn't personally use it because I know those stuff now, and I have my own workflow now. I never step through code anymore, I don't even use the debugging in anymore.

When required, I am a degenerate "console.log" debugger.

Anyone have a working CLion CMake project that builds mixed C++/Swift code?

My Swift has broken. I have a valid toolchain, but CMake says "no CMAKE_Swift_COMPILER could be found". When I look in the .log file, it seems to have success building the SwiftCompilerId thing, so no useful info there either.

Also did a brew upgrade cmake and Software Update doesn't have a command line tools update either, and xcode-select is giving the right Xcode, too.
