I had a very sad realisation today regarding how to explain #depression to people that have not experienced it.
They always - without fail - have “easy solutions” about how you “only” need to do this or that. Personal hygiene, activity, sleep, food, and so on. Never understanding those things pose an investment and a challenge (See: Spoon Theory).
But every single time - without fail - when I mention the fact that many #depressive people no longer desire or enjoy #sex I am met with disbelieve, because “obviously EVERYbody loves sex”. Well, no, because depression is a #cruel bitch.
In fact, 200 years ago a thing like #youth was unknown. Even bourgeoise science acknowledged this.
Youth was created, after kids were fucked so excessively hard by the factories, that even the Prussian army didn't found physically abled "human resources" anymore.
