Tori Lacey, 26, chronicled the troubling incident on her #TikTok & #Instagram pages, where she usually posts content about her #travel exploits as a person who uses a #wheelchair.
I have had to start telling people, straight up, that inviting me to #unmasked, #unsafe indoor events/gatherings that include a lot of strangers is showing me that they don't care about my #immunecompromised state or have listened to my valid #health concerns, that they lack #compassion for the fact my Dad died in June from #LongCovid & they're participating in plague spreading events - knowing people like me & my family are still suffering from public acting like #covid is over when it's not.
Mountain Dew drinks, Jolly Ranchers, Swedish Fish, Lemon Heads, Starburst Gummies, and Hershey's are just some of the U.S. candies that are illegal to sell in the UK because they contain "carcinogenic and genotoxic ingredients".
Interesting question, then: Is the UK being ridiculously over-cautious? Or is the U.S.'s willingness to allow potentially dangerous ingredients to be used in candy until there's a statistical connection between illness and death and these ingredients the best choice for U.S. residents?
Or is it really only the best choice for corporate investors?
6 more people I know in #VictoriaBC have tested positive for #covid in the past week.
This photo's from a friend who tested positive yesterday. She works in a grocery store & wore masks but there's no mandatory masking in the store. She told me she had a cold a few days ago. I advised her to take 2 covid tests; grateful she was open to doing that. A couple of other friends aren't testing at all, despite having symptoms. I can't be around them.
This friend is #disabled & it took her a long time to find FT work with compassionate employer. She's been worried about getting it but she doesn't have control over public health policies & stores have hard time trying to enforce masking when #PublicHealth isn't making it mandatory.
Ppl are worried about not being able to pay bills if they refuse to work in #unsafe environments. #BCNDP needs to #BringBackMasks & make them mandatory again in indoor public environments.
Here's someone who works at a downtown hotel: "I live in Dogpatch, and I usually drive to work."
It's two miles. 11 minutes by car. But 16 minutes by transit or by bicycle. And Google says it's a 48 minute walk, though it wouldn't take me that long.
Why do they drive to work? Probably because they get free parking at the hotel. And it saves them... 5 minutes
@NanoSector Yea.. I used it quite a lot, but trust me, it should be forbidden...
JS is too dangerous throwing errors at will and even with TS the types are unsound and more a guideline, because at runtime everything can happen, incl. undefined! Crashing the server/app!
Let's get this out of the way: they give a number of #reasons why #webservers "might wish" to establish that a web #client is running on a "#trusted" software stack, including things like "make sure other game players aren't cheating" and "ensure I'm talking to another human".
So, this just happened and I wanna scream, sob, and just give up at this point.
This is my family's safe person here (who's only in the office for 1 more HOUR) informing us that the inn owner texted her that he expects $500 from us TODAY.
I can't do this, I can't fucking do this anymore 😭😭😭
