Emailed my senators today about voting down #KOSA Really hoping the Dems will pull it together and shoot down all these ridiculous internet censorship bills.

As an act of protest against the EARN IT act and the STOP CSAM act, today, I'm wearing my "Encryption is not a crime" T-shirt while I'm out shopping. It's not much, but hopefully, it does something.
Please visit this #EFF link and reach out to your representatives and tell them to oppose Senator Blumenthal's proposed legislation called #EarnIt. This proposed legislation will weaken or render encryption illegal all in the name of #nationalsecurity. Ironically, this will do the reverse. It will also seriously impact our rights to privacy which is fundamental!
Even back then governments were trying to interfere with the internet with weak cryptography. I love the RFC number. Read each point. It's still very relevant all these years later.
The #EARNIT bill is aiming at scanning our messages and photos, but opposition is HUGE. EARN IT is an internet surveillance bill that makes all of us less safe by attacking encryption under the guise or protecting children.
