@arcadetoken If I “do” anything for my #birthday, I like to spend it with family or friends. We don’t have to be doing anything in particular. There doesn’t need to be cake. The fewer #social#expectations the better, as far as I’m concerned. Just being with them is quite enough.
#selflove in itself seems within reach, doable. 😇 It becomes more difficult when I pit myself against society's expectations. Or probably more precisely against my perception of these #expectations. 😏

I have very dear girlfriends from several nations on the African continent, and what they all agree on is that the word '#trauma' did not exist in their life experience, and that the West is too hung up on their "unmet #expectations of life" frustration, and don't move on but keep staring at their hurt... my friends say you need to expect hurt and overcome it, not sit and linger with it... their thoughts have influenced me greatly how I deal with #life, in general... and with my story, and the story of everyone else ♡
