A Fulton county commissioner in Georgia has been
operating a private Telegram channel for years,
propagating debunked claims about the 2020 election,
and spreading accusations of crimes by county employees,
including #Ruby#Freeman, an election worker defamed by Rudy Giuliani in the wake of Donald Trump’s 2020 loss.
#Bridget#Thorne, a Republican representing the relatively conservative cities of Fulton county north of Atlanta,
indirectly identifies herself as the creator and administrator of the Fulton County Elections channel on Telegram,
a mobile messaging platform,
in multiple posts to its page.
The channel uses the official logo of the Fulton county board of registration and elections.
The channel, created in May 2021, had 133 subscribers as of Tuesday night.
In a post from 14 February, the administrator of the page accused
Ruby Freeman,
a former Fulton county elections worker,
of misconduct,
despite a Georgia elections board finding that all of the conspiracy theories about her were “false and unsubstantiated”.
“We clearly see her double scanning ballots,” the channel administrator wrote about Freeman, a regular target of attention on the Telegram page.

Every year, the bloom of thousands of almond trees in California spurs one of the world’s largest, albeit artificial, migrations of animals; as billions of #honeybees are loaded onto trucks and sent to deliver lucrative pollination fees for their human keepers.
This insect odyssey ensures paydays for often struggling beekeepers, the production of most of the world’s almonds, and increasingly, an opportunity for enterprising thieves.
Standing in the way of the bee rustlers — often alone — is #Rowdy#Freeman, a deputy at the Butte County Sheriff’s Office in California’s Central Valley.
Freeman is a steely sort of bee detective. Angular, with a shaved head and fond of wearing wrap-around sunglasses, the taciturn deputy is a beekeeper himself and is aghast at how hive thefts have become so ubiquitous.
Last year, according to Freeman calculations, a record of more than 🔸2,300 honeybee hives were stolen in the Central Valley🔸.
This year’s thefts could easily surpass that number, with Freeman recording nearly 2,000 hives stolen already.
Despite the growing scale of this crime, Freeman is typically the only law enforcement officer working with beekeepers to track the stolen hives and their thieves.
“I’m trying to get more help for this because it’s become a major problem, it’s getting out of control,” Freeman said.
While California has state branches devoted to stamping out the theft of #horses or #cattle, no such task force exists for bees, he notes with no small amount of envy and frustration.

The filing came a day after the federal judge who oversaw the case handed down an order that would immediately force Giuliani to pay out the judgment awarded to Ruby #Freeman and Wandrea “Shaye” #Moss, election workers in Fulton County, #Georgia in 2020.

In 1970, Ronald Reagan was running for reelection as governor of California. He had first won in 1966 with confrontational rhetoric toward the University of California public college system and executed confrontational policies when in office. In May 1970, Reagan shut down all 28 UC and Cal State campuses in the midst of student protests against the Vietnam War and the U.S. bombing of Cambodia. On October 29, less than a week before the election, his education adviser #Roger A. #Freeman spoke at a press conference to defend him.
Freeman’s remarks were reported the next day in the San Francisco Chronicle under the headline “Professor Sees Peril in Education.”
According to the Chronicle article, Freeman said, “We are in #danger of producing an #educated#proletariat. … That’s dynamite! We have to be #selective on who we #allow [to go to college].”
“If not,” Freeman continued, “we will have a large number of highly trained and unemployed people.”
Freeman also said — taking a highly idiosyncratic perspective on the cause of fascism —“that’s what happened in Germany. I saw it happen.”
