Hmm I wonder if we should pop out to #Bodie this weekend to check out the #GhostTown... The paved road is open. I wonder how the dirt roads are doing. It would be nice to get to the east side.
@douglasvb LOL... I am the only person in my family with interest in that kind of thing. (albeit, my son has been ending up in those kinds of spots, working on the search/rescue copter, LOL). Pets are indeed the problem (love them, but arranging care and feeding is always the PITA).
The old grain elevators of Arena. Arena is a #GhostTown in central #NorthDakota that has had no residents in a few years. The elevators are starting to lean, but it will probably be a while before they fall over.
I finally got a clean photo of the old Eureka Opera House (1880) and Jackson House Hotel in Eureka, Nevada. Usually there are vehicles parked in front. Too bad this wasn't in the evening with the lights on. The reflections on the wet pavement would have been awesome! Guess you gotta take what you can get!

Chitina, #Alaska was once pretty much a #GhostTown after an earthquake stopped the building of a highway from there to the Kennicott mines. As a joke, someone once painted a ghost on his house when he left for better pastures. Ghost on the house became a tradition and landmark for this pretty much empty town.
