We found out that they've had a new bread that's been available since last Thanksgiving - sweet potato bread, with apricot butter and cranberry relish. Gorgeous and delicious. Both accompaniments were so good. A much better offering than the prior focaccia bread.

The lobby of the #GrandCalifornianHotel has extensive decorations for #LunarNewYear , more than I've ever seen before. There's a backdrop for a photo op, beautiful flowers, and even gorgeous bamboo floral displays.
The combination of #ChipAndDale and #gingerbread means I bought an ornament and a pin last night. So cute. I love when they include the little #HiddenMickey in the logo of the #GrandCalifornianHotel . Nice touch having the bites taken out of various pieces!
The #gingerbreadhouse in the lobby of the #GrandCalifornianHotel is finished, and they've added a fence since the last time I saw it, with giant cinnamon rolls on top.
I always love the #gingerbreadhouse in the lobby of the #GrandCalifornianHotel , but they've absolutely outdone themselves this year. The first pictures were from around 11am yesterday.
And then I noticed all the sweet treats being used to build and decorate the house - scones and candies and candy canes and waffle ice cream cone material and croissants and cinnamon rolls and donuts. But as the sign said, they were still creating. More than 12 hours later, I was back and there were indeed some very prominent additions - a chocolate chip cookie rug in front of the fireplace, 2 cupcakes as #Christmas trees with their own adorable confection ornaments, and of course, #ChipAndDale !
I started with the yellowtail carpaccio, which wasn't as thin as I normally expect carpaccio to be, but I actually preferred the thicker bite of the fish. The accompaniments really added a lot of contrasting flavors to the dish. Really enjoyed it. /1
