Stability AI released the StableCode - their first LLM generative AI product for coding today. The new model - StableCode-Completion-Alpha-3B is a 3 billion parameter decoder-only code completion model pre-trained on a diverse set of programming languages using Stackoverflow developer survey data.
I only just today, for the first time, experienced @huggingface and their models, pipelines etc.
Completely new to all this, but holy heck. Having spent some time installing PyTorch and then running one of their pipelines I got my very first result back and holy heck.
I feel... all jittery :-D
And this was all for free. It seems... like it shouldn't be possible.
We at Posit have been working on integrating the torch for #RStats ecosystem with #HuggingFace tools, allowing users to load and execute #LLM models from their platform.

Dr Sasha Luccioni, research scientist at the #AI firm #Huggingface, said society should focus on issues like #AI bias, predictive policing, and the spread of #misinformation by #chatbots which she said were "very concrete harms".
"We should focus on that rather than the hypothetical risk that #AI will destroy humanity," she added.
as suspicious as I am about #HuggingFace, they're actually pretty good at what they do. HuggingChat is even open source, and is currently using an open source model (except that it appears to be LLaMA-based, meaning it's not free software).
That's probably one of the biggest commitments to open source I've seen, in a world where this is getting increasingly commercial...
@msprout keep me in touch with the models you're working with. I'm also trying to stay ahead of the curve. #Vicuna is perfect on Apple Silicon M2P, it's almost as fast as #GPT3. I saw also #huggingface made an Open Source alternative to #ChatGPT but it's overloaded.
