Smog Isn’t Just About Farmers – We Breathe the Soot of Our Own Ecological Sins
It’s not only our lungs but perhaps our brains that have become fogged. We have failed to see that historically, stubble burning contributes only 6% to the pollution, yet the public is quick to make the farmers the scapegoats, and not the policymakers.

These are some oyster beds that I'm working with many others to restore to healthier states in #SaanichInlet on #VancouverIsland . Colonialism & capitalist industry that followed destroyed many food sources for local Indigenous & local settlers. There was once big clam/shellfish gardens & mid tide fish traps in inlet that all got destroyed. There's remediation project happening now & it will be decades before it's done.
Across the inlet - the #Bamberton cement plant created more #IndustrialPollution & contributed to decimation of native clam beds, shellfish gardens & generations old fish traps.
