Good news, I'm actually able to put up links to specific instances on Twitter! This should not only raise peoples' interests, but also make joining easier for them. Though how to find out if an instance is open to new signups? That I don't know. #Maystodon#TwitterMigration

Hey @spreadmastodon and @maystodon , I know we haven’t advertised #Maystodon so much but it starts tomorrow (1st of May) and maybe we should communicate a bit around it?
-> the goal for individuals is to only (or at least preferentially) post on Mastodon for the month of May
-> we could have themed events (e.g. on our neuromatch instance a Neuroscience Q&A??)
-> the goal for instances is to advertise the themes and benefits of their instance
-> we should also amp up our welcoming of new people by helping newcomers and answering to Intro posts

Shall we discuss what to prepare for #Maystodon ?
For those already on Mastodon, one contribution would be to pledge/ try / attempt to post only on Mastodon for the month of May (well, except to promote Ma(y)stodon); and of course to welcome and help all newcomers!
For those on Twitter or other places, it would be to join and pledge / try to only post Mastodon.
One problem with getting people to join Mastodon, regardless of how good your reasoning or how effective your argument or how much they may want to, is that on Twitter there's no guarantee they'll even see your posts on the subject. What can we do about that? #Maystodon#TwitterMigration
@Fragglemuppet Great point, this is why I've kept my twitter account but I post only about Mastodon. Any tweets with external links and probably some chosen keywords (like... Mastodon) are probably shadow banned though. I really don't get a lot of engagement over there any more.
Still, there are a lot of people who are on both platforms and can help us spread the word by tweeting about #Maystodon!
