Earwormed by Take My Job Away by Dubioza Kolectiv featuring Robby Megabyte, which hilariously takes us through our joys and fears about the (possibly) coming singularity

1-800-GENOCIDE (Peoples Remix)
by Rebel Diaz

This song is for the Palestinian resistance; for everyone worldwide denouncing the horror being inflicted on the Palestinian people by the US and Israel. Ain't none of us free til we all free. It's always been, and forever will be, Free Palestine!

Defiance, to punkrock

Sept 2, 1980

The Dead Kennedy’s release their debut album, “Fresh Fruit For Rotting Vegetables”

The album includes the previously released singles “Holiday In Cambodia” and “California Über Alles”, along with several new, equally political punk songs like “When Ya Get Drafted”, “Let’s Lynch The Landlord”, and “Kill The Poor”.

I got deep into DK a few years later. Loved their politics and their sound so much. Unfortunately, two of the original members still play under the band name, and they’re clearly right wing. No wonder I’m so cynical about humanity 🤷‍♂️

    Workers United

    An eight-hour day, yearly vacations
Minimum pay, in line with inflation
All these things would not exist
    If it weren't for unions

    Parental leave, penalty rates
    Reduced powers to terminate
These things would not be here today
    Without the power of unity

The workers united will never be defeated

Today in Labor History March 24, 1834: William Morris, British author, textile designer and revolutionary socialist was born on this date. He wrote the utopian novel “News From Nowhere” and founded the Socialist League in 1874. He was influenced by both Marxism and anarchism.

    Bringing the News From Nowhere

    He turned from his class
and he made the lonely journey
    through the river of fire
and when he reached the other side
he joined the ones who had nothing
    the poor and the hungry
    and their cause was his
til the day that he died

    for he saw that
    in them
    a spark lay hidden
    and he saw that
    in them
    a hope still burned
    for the great change coming
when the shoddy rule of mammon
would be shattered like a hulk
    that the storm has overturned
