This is the fundamental problem with the . They design streets with the expectation that there will be traffic enforcement, when in fact doesn’t do any. Traffic safety needs to be self-enforcing, i.e., the designs need to incorporate physical barriers such that it’s impossible for drivers to do the wrong thing.

has effectively been on a work stoppage since the George Floyd protests. This is not a staffing problem; they didn't suddenly lose that much staff. The whole idea of hiring more cops without accountability for the ones we have is nonsense.
