Might it be possible for journalists/media commentators to not ask ridiculous questions OVER & OVER like “how strong of a case do you think this is?” How many times do they need to hear from legitimate lawyers: IT’S STRONG? #indictment

I was hopeful for the longest time. But, I have stopped consumption of MSM almost totally except for an occasional glance to make sure I’ve made the right decision. @GottaLaff is my main source of #News and I appreciate her curating skills as well as the posts including headlines such as the Womp Womp and the Wut? 🙂 Much more palatable. #ManyThanks Laffy for being a hunter/gatherer of information and presenting it here so I can feel informed yet stay as sane as possible. #ShabbatShalom
Heading out into Algonquin Park with husband, daughter, dog, a canoe and a kayak for our annual backcountry camping trip. Listening to the kickass #JoniMitchell Live at Newport. Canadian happiness. Take care friends and colleagues. #ShabbatShalom

I only started keeping shabbos 2 years ago when I started medical school and was expected to rountinely work on weekends. At first I felt guilty because I wasn't really shomer shabbos, I just needed some protected time when I couldn't be called on for shifts or feel guilty about not studying. Now it's without a hesitation the best part of my week every week, even though I like what I do. I think there is a case to be made that the 39 categories of work were all ways that people participated in the economy and that the spirit of shomer shabbos is protection, for 24 hours each week, against exploitation.
I come from a place of tremendous priveledge having the leverage to even set that as a boundary. But I feel very lucky to have shabbos as part of my cultural inheritance.
Good shabbos everyone. May you have a day of rest and free of exploitation.
