Once, I had the idea to take the font I read social media in, replace one letter at a time with one of my own design, until I've replaced the entire alphabet, over several months.
I wanted to see if I could ease myself into reading my own alphabet. And you know what? It worked!
The attached image is how I read social media now, and I'm comfortable reading it this way!
With all the posts about #StargateSG1 I decided to take the plunge. Started by re-watching the original movie starring James Spader & Kurt Russell. I had forgotten a lot of it. The last 1/3 of the flick is forgettable but the entire world building/discovery is compelling.
The pilot of SG-1 picks up a year after the events of the film & so far I like it. Richard Dean Anderson as Russell’s character is interesting. He’s now the alpha male instead of the nerd (Macgyver), interesting role reversal
@gedeonm The rules of the gate evolve over time and aren't really what you'd call "rock solid”. The show really is great and there's also the TV movies for #StargateSG1. I rather enjoyed #StargateAtlantis quite a bit as they change up the cast, rules and setting to make something fresh and you get Joe Flanigan (lots of fun as the lead) & Jason Momoa pretty early in his career. I've re-watched both series and it's still high up in my fave TV.
You have so much to enjoy if it all sticks for you 😃
@gedeonm I just recently watched the #StargateAtlantis episode where they used a variation of the intelligent Crystaline entity story. It was an "Arrogant Rodney" episode. It was nice to see them reference the SG-1 story.
One of the things that always amuses me is that something like this was designed by someone.
The exact detail, the layout of the patterns, on this camouflage jacket, even if nothing to do with the show (#StargateAtlantis) was designed by someone, somewhere.
Someone considered the blocks and shapes, considered how they may be "confusing".
