“Meet the Press” booking Trump for first show with new host is how FASCISM is normalized! NBC decided the person who should be the first guest on the new MTP is the man who attempted a coup and incited the Jan 6 attack on our Capitol. Please call NBC to tell them this is wrong! @DeanObeidallah
T****'s very life revolves around "ratings". It's his benchmark for everything. He even refers to his Approval Numbers as "Ratings", and he tries to convince people of how "beloved" he is by the ratings for his interviews.
So if this first episode of #MtP does poorly (as I suspect it will), he's going to spin like a hurricane trying to convince everyone "more people watched my interview than the #Superbowl." 🤦♂️
My heartfelt thanks to all of you who use AltText to add descriptions to your pics and media. As someone who used to be able to see but has been blind for over 30 years now, it allows me to see the pic in my mind and is greatly appreciated and allows me to enjoy them.
Another heartfelt thanks to those who use #CamelBack in their hashtags. This makes it so much easier to understand with a screen reader and for those who read print as well! ❤️
It just means the first letter of each word in a hashtag is a capital letter.
It makes it easier for screen reader software to distinguish each word, so that it can say the words out loud individually instead of the user having to guess what they are.
A lot of fully sighted people also find it easier to read hashtags with CamelCase (for example #SuperBowl vs #SuperbOwl).
It's difficult for an automated system to know which CamelCase is correct, as seen with the #SuperBowl / #SuperbOwl threads.
At the moment the behaviour is that it suggests whichever was used first, which unfortunately is usually a non-CamelCase tag.
I guess they could change it to give priority to the first tag with a varieties of cases, as they will usually be the correct CamelCase version? The SuperbOwl/SuperBowl situations are rare.
Apparently there's some sort of fix in the pipeline related to this, but at the very least, I'd like to be able to type kbin.social/m/kbinmeta and be redirected to kbin.social/m/kbinMeta
This was the example I was thinking of haha. I made a post on Mastodon and tagged #SuperBowl about the Super Bowl and started seeing these Superb Owls... Not the same indeed.
Twelve NFL franchises have yet to win a Super Bowl. Ahead of the 2023 NFL season, Eric Edholm weighs the likelihood of those teams capturing their first ever Lombardi Trophy.
In 2020, @charles and I made People You May Know on Apple TV, essentially exposing Cambridge Analytica had worked with ultra-conservative churches in the US. And wouldn’t you know it, two years later the company we found exploiting vulnerable people turn up at #SuperBowl with a $20M #hegetsus Christian ad. I break down what they’re up to on @moviemakingmama on TikTok.
One Super Bowl tradition I miss from Twitter: the indignant "If you say 'Sportsball' or make a joke about how many home runs a team has in the Super Bowl, I WILL BLOCK YOU" tweets.
I mean, I completely get where they are coming from. If there's one group that American society has ostracized, it's sports fans. They shouldn't have to put up with anybody joking about disinterest in their hobby. It's borderline bullying, frankly.
Elon Musk is threatening to end his $44 billion agreement to buy Twitter, accusing the company of refusing to give him information about its spam bot accounts.
#ElonMusk created a special system for showing you all his tweets first
After his #SuperBowl tweet performed statistically worse than President #Biden's, Musk ordered major changes to the #algorithm.
Biden's tweet, in which he said he would be supporting his wife in rooting for the #PhiladelphiaEagles, generated nearly 29 million impressions. Musk also tweeted support for the Eagles, generated around 9.1 million impressions before deleting the tweet in frustration.
I don't know if it's possible to change now, but magazines being case-sensitive seems like a recipe for disaster
