This whole #WorldCup has been a wildly emotional ride in the best possible sense. Despite the #Matildas’ loss to the #Lionesses, I can’t find it in myself to be glum whatsoever because I’m just so excited for what’s next for women’s football/soccer on the global stage, and mainstream recognition of these athletes’ excellence is only just beginning. Onwards and upwards. #WWC#AUSvENG#MastodonFC
Couple of awesome Women's World Cup podcasts discussing the #England vs. #Australia game and what going through to the final means for the #Lionesses, as well as discussing the #Matildas achievement in reaching the semis.
These have been awesome podcasts throughout the tournament and well worth a listen for WWC fans!
I will never be able to not get emotional when watching the #England#Lionesses drive deep into the latter stages of tournaments and finals.
As someone who has seen and experienced first hand the challenges and barriers to girl's and women's football in England and just how far things have come from the days when people would openly laugh, mock and discourage girls from playing, it always elicits strong emotions in me.
@Junction A truly exceptional performance from the England Lionesses as they roar into the final.
Spain will be a different type of challenge, but England have shown time and time again they're capable of the dynamicism required to overcome any challenge in front of them.
I truly feel the Lionesses could bring the World Cup home to England for the first time since 1966.
England BACK IN FRONT! Millie Bright once again with the amazing pass from deep in our own half. Hemp taking full advantage of Australia's inability to cope defensively with the pressure. Matildas fans will be disappointed with that defending.
