“However, there is something intuitive about the four elements and the roles they play…
“… a character jumping across rooftops would roll his Fire dice, a character dodging bullets would roll his Water dice, a character intimidating a foe would roll Air, and a character resisting a mind-control spell would roll Earth.” - #Fireborn
I feel like the author & I are working from different definitions of the word “intuitive”
Listen, I don’t know who needs to hear this, but display typefaces should never be used when the type is small. They are for BIG headings.
Look at “Purchase Aspects” here. I have a really hard time seeing the right line on the H, and both “A”s. I am having an very hard time distinguishing top horizontal line on the E from the middle horizontal line in the small and large headings
Axios is essentially headlining with the business model overlays use: “Assistive technology is AI's next billion-person market”
The technologies it describes are not AI, even if there is some computer vision in there. Anyway, it’s just a CES marketing round-up with two simple caveats at the end.
Today was the day my doctor said mammogram, definitely a signpost of middle age. Two thoughts came to mind: I don’t feel much past 30 - but I’m grateful I’ve been healthy and active enough to age. One thing I’ve learned working at a disability nonprofit is how many ways your body tries to kill you, even if your diagnosis itself is not life-threatening. 1/
5/ I have always attributed this massive gap in our healthcare system to a very dated systemic assumption that ppl with disabilities are not sexual and that we won’t live long enough to get cancer. There’s also a systemic bias that disabled people are grouped in one area or in a single institution and thus are someone else’s problem - laughable because people who do live in long-term care have a harder time accessing routine #gynecology care. #healthcare#healthequity#accessibiliy
