#feddit funziona un po' come i vecchi forum e un po' come i gruppi di discussione.
E' suddivisa per argomenti di interesse e anche noi abbiamo un gruppo seguibile anche da mastodon:

In passato c'erano stati alcuni problemi di federazione che non consentivano agli utenti Misskey di aprire nuovi thread ma almmassimo di rispondere a thread già aperti.

I think maybe the best action is to draw up plans for a new instance, in public on here. That way, if Tom returns, the plans can be used to continue/help this instance.
That’s my thinking - I posted about it somewhere else in this thread.
If we can get volunteers to admin, then Tom only has to swoop in, promote them and we’ll get refederated.
If the worst happens, we have admins in place to migrate to a new instance.
It might be worth having a discord/mailing list or similar, not for the planning, but to give a location for discussions to happen if the instance vanished suddenly.
I started a feddit.uk Matrix space. It’s handy to have in case the server goes down for whatever reason (lemmy.world started their Discord server because of all the DDoS attacks and now have a Matrix space).
Warum gibt es Feddit als Teil von Lemmy und Lemmy? Dadurch gibt es doch dann manche Communitys auf Feddit (Lemmy) und auf Lemmy. Ich bin neu hier und verstehe nicht so vieles nicht.
@caos hat es ja schon ein bisschen erklärt. Wichtig ist dazu noch zu sagen, dass die verschiedenen Lemmy Instanzen miteinander sprechen, Du also von feddit aus auch Communitys auf z.B. lemmy.world (eine weiter Lemmy Instanz) folgen kannst. Um es noch komplizierter zu machen, antworte ich Dir hier z.B. noch nicht einmal über Lemmy (die Software) sondern von #Friendica (eine ganz andere Software, eher mit Facebook zu vergleichen) aus.
Wenn Du ein bisschen tiefer einsteigen möchtest, bzw. es etwas genauer erklärt haben möchtets, habe ich hier mal zwei Links, in denen das #Fediverse, von dem #Lemmy und somit auch #Feddit ein Teil ist, etwas näher erklärt wird.
Auf dem PC liebe ich es Overwatch, Hearthstone oder WoW zu spielen. Da ich aber seit längerem Rückenprobleme habe, spiele ich gerne auf der PS5 oder Switch. Gemütlich auf der Couch 🤪
Serien und Filme schaue ich auch gerne. Alles so in Richtung Sci-Fi, Drama oder Romantik
Ich werkle auch gerne an meinen Proxmox und habe mir dort meine Smart Home Zentrale aufgebaut.

Es sind klar unterschiedliche Anwendungen, mit völlig unterschiedlichen Use-Cases, aber ich kann jederzeit einen Kommentar von der einen zur anderen seite schieben ohne Kontext zu verlieren.
Und im Zweifel folge ich einfach von Mastodon aus @dresden, was sich schon ohne getrennten Account und ohne extra-Client praktischer anfühlt als Reddit jemals.

Haha, oh wow. Bei #reddit brennt echt die Hütte. Gelöschte Profile und Posts werden ohne Wissen oder Einverständnis der User*innen wiederhergestellt, damit es nicht ganz so kaputt aussieht da drüben. Die ersten Menschen bereiten schon DSGVO-Anfragen vor. Währenddessen: #lemmy gewinnt an Fahrt und fühlt sich an wie Reddit vor > 10 Jahren. Sehr angenehm.
@kkarhan Magst du das etwas ausführen? Ich bin auf #feddit.de mit meinem #lemmy-Account gelandet und fühl mich da recht wohl. Was tut #kbin anders als lemmy?
Praktisch alle großen deutschsprachigen Subreddits sind als Protestaktion nicht mehr erreichbar. Wachsende Alternativen befinden sich im Fediverse, etwa Feddit.
Continua la fuga di utenti da #reddit e questo tutto a favore del fediverso e dei progetti alternativi a reddit come #lemmy e #kbin che hanno ricevuto decine di migliaia di nuovi iscritti nell'ultima settimana (non senza problemi) tanto da diventare le piattaforme del #fediverso più vibranti!
Anche https://feddit.it, l'istanza lemmy per italiani, ha avuto un'impennata di notorietà superando da ieri i 1000 iscritti e rendendolo uno dei social italiani del fediverso più attivi.

Sono dei siti abbastanza simili ai social network ma con un punto di vista diverso.
Su un social si scrive di tutto un po e i legami si creano sulla base di simpatie personali.
Poi certo, ci si puo' infilare in una conversazione su un tema di attualita' anche con persone che non si conoscono, ma e' lasciato al caso.
Il focus e' la persona.
Un sito di forum invece ha una organizzazione degli argomenti, per cui se per una settimana non vuoi sentire parlare di politica, vai a leggerti il forum sui libri o sul giappone o sulla musica.
Il focus in questo caso e' l'argomento.
Lemmy e' un forum di discussione federato, e feddit.it e' la prima istanza italiana.
Ci si puo' scrivere anche direttamente da mastodon con un minimo di accortezze nella formattazione del messaggio, per cui prima si mette un titolo, poi l'indirizzo del forum interessato, poi il testo come al solito
feddit e' ancora molto meno popolato di qui, ma se penso che un post possa interessare anche gli utenti di un forum, tanto vale che lo faccia.
Saranno anche piu' facilmente ritrovabili da persone interessate rispetto all'attimo fuggente della timeline!
