Progress on building a . Steps:

  1. Restack the wood using shims (first photo).
  2. Wait 7 days.
  3. Apply an end seal to the boards. Some were already sealed, but an extra coat doesn't hurt (second photo shows some w/ and some w/o end seal).
  4. Lay out boards without anything on top of them for a day.
  5. Scrape them with a painter's knife and buff them with 0000 steel wool. Pick up particles with tack cloth.
  6. Apply stain w/ a pad.
  7. Apply a second coat.
  8. Dry.
  9. GOTO 4
