Save your fences, save our forests! Did you know you can get many more years of life from your wooden fence by waterproofing it? I see a lot of people whose fences turn to barn wood, then rot, then they have to replace the fence.
Even a fence originally built with 'treated wood' eventually needs help if you want it to last -- and reduce the need for more wood and logging of our precious forests.
Waterproofing compounds sink into the wood -- some are oil-based. They are not paint and don't peel. You need to do the water proofing, usually about every 7 years or so. When you do repeat waterproofing, there is no sanding or complicated prep work -- as long as you avoid the brands that leave a film.
If you don't do waterproofing, you might get only 5 to 15 years out of your fence. Waterproofing is way cheaper than replacing the fence.
Finland’s Govt proposed that EUR 74M in additional funding be allocated to the #BorderGuard for the construction of a #fence on the #eastern#border [#Russia] on an accelerated timetable. Therefore, appropriations reserved for the border fence construction in 2025 will be transferred for use in 2024.
