A deadly new tool is being rolled out that will kill feral cats by spraying them with a toxic gel, as part of a five-year plan to reduce the enormous impact the predators are having on native wildlife.
The Gathering: I got Marble, one of The Three (kittens), to the vet. I get her back on Thursday. Then I have to keep her inside for about ten days. Spay/neuter, chip, rabies, etc. costs an arm and a small leg. I’ll have to spread all the ferals’ vet visits if I don’t want to go broke.
The Great Greyleen.
Momma Cat.
Snarly to people and a Good Mom to her boys.
I thought she was around 6, but I've been told 7 or 8 might be more realistic. That's a good ripe age for a #feral cat. Her boys will leave the yard. She very rarely does.
I went out on the deck, and this happened again. Oreo, one of The Gathering, found the sofa. I think I need to get it to a vet. I don’t want fleas in the house. It didn’t want to leave the house when I tried to get it out.
I wanted to draw a picture with a background again. I keep forgetting how satisfying it is to finish an artwork that requires more work than a simple character drawing. I was inspired for this picture by various other illustrations and photos on the internet.
This cute fox in the forest will be available as an unique #1 of 1 print on 30x40cm alu-dibond for auction at Eurofurence con!
The Gathering: I wa supposed to get Speck in for a follow-up dystermper vaccine, but he managed to score blood escaping the carrier. Appointment cancelled. Oh well.
The Gathering it’s been an eventful morning already. Last night, Speck showed up with an injured leg/paw. I took him in to the vet this morning. Probably a puncture wound.. Speck is staying to get spayed. Should be out later. I guess he’s going to stay indoors for a month.
The Gathering: Speck survived the night indoors. He didn’t use the litterbox. The Cone of Discomfort, he doesn’t enjoy. He’s walking and using his leg/paw without problems now. So, whatever it was was minor. He wants to go outside, but I’m not letting him out until the cone comes off. #feral#cat
The Gathering: The ferals are all fine and still show up every day to sit on the deck and stare into the house. They all, pretty much, ignore the goslings, although the kittens are curious. They, however, keep their distance.
