Campoli Plays Paganini-Kreisler, Saint-Saëns (LSO, cond. Gamba) (1959)
When I'm not listening to reissues of 1970s soul jazz, I'm geeking over old London Decca classical records. This one was a thrift store find yesterday.
I bought this album in 1970 while in high school, for no other reason than I was mezmorized by the cover art, and heard that Miles is hip and I should be listening to him. At the time, I didn't get it and shelved it for years. It took being exposed to much more music to understand what genius is contained on these disks. So much history and influences are amalgamated into this music. #jazz#afro#rock#freejazz#milesdavis#BitchesBrew#nowplaying#vinyl
Inspired by a thing I saw on Reddit earlier today, I’m going to try listening to more complete albums this year. Maybe daily? We’ll see how it shakes out.

Meant to post yesterday, but work, and Baldur’s Gate… I’ll try to catch up today.
This is a beloved classic for good reason, though oddly it seems to have slightly different Songwhip listings for Apple Music vs. everywhere else, so you get your choice of links to enjoy it yourself:
