The remains of the former Partick Central Station (later known as Kelvin Hall Station) under Benalder Street in Glasgow. It was built around 1896 for the Lanarkshire and Dumbartonshire Railway, and closed in 1965. The station buildings were demolished in 1968.

I love the details above these windows on a tenement on Peel Street in the Partick area of Glasgow, especially the cherubs in boats getting pulled along by swans. The building dates from 1875 and was designed by H and D. Barclay.

New flats filling in a gap between old sandstone tenements on Peel Street in the Partick area of Glasgow. The gap was created when a German parachute mine exploded at 11:25pm on 13th of March 1941, killing 50 people and destroying much of the street. As with other similar sites in the city, there's nothing to mark its history.

My favourite example of pareiodolia in Glasgow's architecture. For those who don't know, pareiodolia is the human tendency to see meaningful patterns where patterns don't exist, like seeing a face in the features of this tenement building on Dumbarton Road in Partick.

Good Morning, Glasgow. It's a pleasant start to the day here on Dumbarton Road in Partick, with the Glasgow University tower silhouetted against the sunrise.

Wellpark House on Partickhill Road in Glasgow. Built in a Jacobean style, it is thought to have been constructed around the 1860s.

Starting as a private house, it be came a Roman Catholic seminary in 1874. In 1906 the seminary moves out to Bearsden, and it became a hostel for student teachers called Saint Kentigern's Hostel.

Absolutely love this beautiful patterned Victorian tile from Partick Lesser Hall in the West End of Glasgow. The building was designed by William Leiper and was built in 1872.

Five-storey Partick Tenement on Dumbarton Road in Glasgow. Built in 1903, it was designed by F. Burnet and Boston. The corner turrets with their pepper-pot roofs makes this one of the most distinctive tenement buildings in the local area.

Victoria Park Clock in the west of Glasgow. Made from cast iron, it was created by Alexander ans Son, and was donated by William Gordon Oswald. The surrounding park was created in the 1880s on land given to the Burgh of Partick by James Gordon Oswald of Scotstoun (William's father). It was formerly part of the Scotstoun Estate.

Partick Cross Mansions on the corner of Byres Road and Dumbarton Road. This is a classic example of a grand domed tenement at an important Glasgow crossroads, an architectural feature which can be found throughout the city.

I love this lonely little tenement on Dumbarton Road in the Partick area of Glasgow. It's nothing fancy, but it's still beautiful and somehow it's still survived despite the loss of its neighbours.

Red sandstone tenements on Dumbarton Road in Glasgow. If you look carefully about half way down the block, you'll see a face on it (made up of two round windows and the chimney). I've always loved this feature. Seeing faces in inanimate objects like this is known as pareidolia.

The spire of the new Govan-Partick suspension bridge in Glasgow. There's definitely a hint of 'dog howling at the moon as drawn by Farside cartoonist Gary Lason' about it.

Love this lamp outside Victoria, a pub on Dumbarton Road in the Partick area of Glasgow. It seems old, but it doesn't appear on pictures of the bar taken in the early 1990s.

I love these swans. They're part of a set of murals on some hoardings blocking off an area of disused land along South Street in Glasgow, and they really help it blend in.

Another sunset shot from this evening in the west end of Glasgow. This time it shows a Scots Renaissance style building silhouetted against the sky. Designed by A.B. MacDonald and built in 1904, this is the wonderfully ornate Partick sewage treatment works!

I posted a couple of these little art works a couple of days ago, and now I've tracked down a couple more, as well as their origin.

They are part of a sound walk through Partick and Kelvindale created by Tricky Hat Productions in August 2021 called Round Our Place. You can find out more about it here (including a map of the entire walk and the locations of all eight plaques): https://trickyhat.com/portfolios/creative-communities-2022/
