Today is #ThrowBackThursday, so here's one from the past.. 40+ years back. While waiting on a weekly flight, I rented a van and drove to Karlsruhe. I had nothing to do for 6 days, Supertramp was playing in concert.. with Joe Cocker and Chris de Burgh.
33°C, they hosed the crowd to cool them. I was alone, and no one knew I was there. In retrospect, this was scary.
Because @dgar posted Bloody Well Right by #Supertramp with a comment about songs with great intros, I had to pull up my favourite rock and roll intro, the opening to Sweet Jane on Lou Reed's Rock and Roll Animal. Bloody brilliant. Music could be so good in the 70s (and also so lousy).
@alternativenation
Do you remember the first album you bought with your own money?
For me it was Even in the Quietest Moment by #Supertramp
I had asked my older sister for advice, and while we didn't really have the same taste in music I wasn't disappointed.
Edit: Uhm, not sure Supertramp counts as alternative though...
