Ruinieren die sozialen Medien die Demokratie? HistorikerInnen geben in Bielefeld Entwarnung.
"TWITTER IS OFFICIALLY dead. Last week, twitter.com became x.com, marking the final step in a rebranding effort that the company’s owner, Elon Musk, announced last year. The change marks a shift for the now birdless app under Musk’s reign, which has welcomed Nazis and white supremacists back to the platform, dissolved its Trust and Safety council, and has become a cesspool of disinformation and conspiracy."
So when #MuskyTwitter was purchased I joined Mastodon, Post, Spill, Spoutible and BlueSky. Post is going belly up on 5/31. I left Spill because of members policing the way I engage on social media. If I wanted to be critiqued and criticized in my downtime I could go read my course evaluations. Now spam complaints on Mastodon?? I may need to just delete everything except the dark place. #BlackSTEM#BlackFedi#BlackTwitter#BlackMastodon#BlackFediverse#NoireSTEMinist
@drcaberry Please stay. There are gonna be jerks no matter where we go and this place at-least no one, overly funded, asshat, can destroy your connections. There are so many good people I still miss from #Twitter. #Musk#Mastodon I could lend you my #BlueCheckRat I’m training him to bite sm police types. #Ratified
'Just 10 "superspreader" users on Twitter were responsible for more than a third of the misinformation posted over an eight-month period, according to a new report.
In total, 34 per cent of the "low credibility" content posted to the site between January and October of 2020 was created by the 10 users identified by researchers based in the US and UK.'
