I’ve had three gaming PCs and spent maybe $10K in computer parts in the last fifteen years. I know I’ve definitely saved more than that versus having a console.
Few milestones in life mean as much to the American Dream as owning a home. And millennials have encountered the kind of trouble totally befitting their generation, which largely graduated into the teeth of the disastrous post-2008 job market. Just as they entered peak homebuying and household formation age, housing...
I think we all know this already. We’re poking the bear because it’s fun to watch him dive past points being made and scramble to fabricate data so he can ‘win’ every argument.
That’s pretty funny coming from the guy whose comment history is primarily room temperature IQ hot takes and telling people exasperated by your dimness to fuck off. It’s sadly common to encounter stupid, angry people online, but your dedication to the art puts you at least five short buses ahead of your peers.
The US economy added a whopping 353,000 jobs last month, far more than the 176,500 jobs expected. It's yet another data point that underlines the country's economic strength, even in the face of 11 rate hikes from the Federal Reserve.
Bingo. The company I work for just announced their 2023 results: successful but not as wildly successful as they’d hoped. Accordingly, stockholders get larger dividends than ever before while employees get layoffs, rolling furloughs, and pay cuts.
In short Republicans are going to screw over 23 million poor Americans because they don’t want Democrats getting political credit for helping them during an election season. And because our press is generally broken and afraid of calling a duck a duck, this is going to get dressed up as a genuine concern about wasteful...
Your arguments and rebuttals have more holes than a wheel of Emmentaler. They don’t even make sense under the most cursory scrutiny. Whether you agree with the other guy or not, you’re shorting yourself by not deeply analyzing your opinions to see if they’re both internally and externally congruent. Everyone really owes themselves that.
I feel you. We need a truck for occasional use, so we got a high mileage retired work truck for really cheap. It’s bare bones with manual windows and no power locks but it has dual rear tires and a flatbed, so it’s perfect for when we or a neighbor needs to haul big shit. Unfortunately, so many people now assume I’m a dick size compensating fascist on the rare occasions I drive it. My wife and I are thinking of getting the cab wrapped in a rainbow with a big purple, glittery unicorn right across the hood.
Dictators and authoritarianism get you killed. Some capitalist countries have also have these things and, oddly enough, people also die for the same reasons. Could it be… the economic model actually isn’t the issue?
Ahhh, the old “I know nothing about what I’m talking about so I’m going to keep making things up” defense. Classic move and stunningly performed. I can tell you have practice.

As someone who forms keloid scars, I’m pretty sure they’re keloids. Keloid formation is more common amongst Africans than Caucasians. I get fairly hefty scars from even mild abrasions, this poor guy got cut deep, plus the bit about salting. I feel guilty if I kill an insect. I can’t imagine the depravity of someone who would do something like this.
But the people who are telling me I have to vote for Biden regularly assure me democracy is functioning.
It’s so ridiculous. I’ll vote for him because I think it’s currently the best option of two entire options in a very broken system, but we really need to do something to get rid of “vote blue no matter who” because it’s goddamn ridiculous. It’s like careening wildly from one side of the highway to the other while screaming “this is fine!”
I’m all for election reform. I think it’s our only way out of this.
I think it’s useful. It’s not uncommon for people to not pick up on written sarcasm. I actually think we should adopt diacritics that denote emotion. Like emojis but more systematic.
I drive a Prius and have a very long commute which goes through a rather conservative area. My existence inadvertently pisses off so many big truck drivers. I’ll never understand why some people need to speed up and pass me immediately after I’ve passed them. It’s not a competition!

There’s always residue. You’re just diluting it by wiping repeatedly. Before I was a bidet convert, I was a very thorough wiper. Now that I’ve experienced both, I know there’s never enough dry wiping.
