Happy Everybody!

Today is the day when the database that requires the electricity of a small country to stay online, rewards those operating it by cutting their pay in half, which of course means that everything becomes more valuable!

AmericanScream,

@AdeptVeritatis

> The value of Bitcoin comes from the value, people put into the exchanges. Real money.

LOL.. That "value" is not at all qualified. There's $100+ Billion of USDT monopoly money pretending to be liquidity, along with ample evidence of market manipulation and wash trading.

NONE of the crypto exchanges are in any way transparent, nor properly regulated.

Why is it you, "Don't Trust, Verify" guys are the first ones to trust whatever lies CEXs tell you about the market?

AmericanScream,
@AmericanScream@mastodon.social avatar

@AdeptVeritatis

LOL.. you have no idea how much 'value' people are putting into exchanges. That's the whole point!

None of that crap has any transparency or oversight. We do not know how much actual liquidity there is in the market.

AmericanScream,
@AmericanScream@mastodon.social avatar

@AdeptVeritatis

In fairness, local street markets are more fairly regulated and transparent.

Crypto exchanges are shady, opaque, casinos without any oversight or transparency.

It's astounding people who believe in the mantra, "Don't trust. Verify." are so quick to blindly believe the price metrics fed to them by shady anonymous money launderers HQ'd in odd countries with virtually no law enforcement.

At the end of the day, COVID-19 made people realize:

  • They could work from home and that most offices are shitty places.

  • Their job was really shitty.

  • Governments could finance pretty much anything they wanted.

  • Global warming could be stopped.

  • The really important jobs were the ones that are the worst paid (nurses, for instance).

  • Most governments are run by idiots, who are in the pocket of the wealthiest.

AmericanScream,
@AmericanScream@mastodon.social avatar

@ParadeGrotesque

One of reasons governments are "run by idiots" is because most people don't get politically involved. The government is only as good as those who want to participate.

Hackers are now storing malicious code on the to make sure their toxicity can't be censored. A great example of how blockchain really only has a use-case for criminals, and how centralized systems would delete this content. Explain me why anybody in their right mind should use blockchain?

US Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen says the country can 'absolutely' afford another war.

But not universal healthcare, cancelling student debt, or anything at all that helps the poor.

AmericanScream,

Don't say "the poor" like they're a different species. They're not. They're "people." It's helping "people."

    @GossiTheDog When a nation-state says there's "credible allegations", this usually means they've got hard evidence conclusively proving it, but they're not going to make that public for their own national security reasons.

    In the world, it's hard to tell a scam from a non-scam.

    The operational dynamics are identical.

    The only difference is how quickly you realize your money is gone.

    Kevin McCarthy decided to proceed with an “impeachment inquiry” without taking a full House vote. But he knows this is illegal. He argued it was illegal back in 2019, and Barr’s DoJ affirmed that any impeachment inquiry begun without a House vote was invalid. But he went ahead with it anyway. Because he’s spineless and hypocritical.

    How do you respond to allegations that you refuse to debate antone who disagrees with you and instead run an echo chamber of extremists?

    AmericanScream,
    @AmericanScream@mastodon.social avatar

    @KingOfTheNumbers That's bullshit. I'll debate anyone, any time.

    HOWEVER, if all you can do is regurgitate the same 17 crypto talking points we've heard a zillion times, then you're not actually debating in good faith.

    If you want to debate, let me know.

    AmericanScream,
    @AmericanScream@mastodon.social avatar

    @KingOfTheNumbers

    So basically you can't debate because you have nothing more than shallow talking points?

    Your belief that bitcoin is a store of value, I can't argue against. Your feelings are your own. HOWEVER if you believe that for everybody else on the planet, bitcoin is a store of value, we can find plenty of evidence to prove that's not the case.

    If you'd like to debate this we can.

    I'm not interested in changing your mind. I'm only interested in facts.

    Wait. The Supreme Court ruled 5-4 FOR voting rights? I’m truly surprised and delighted! Alabama, which is 27 percent Black, likely will get two instead of one Black folks to represent them in Congress, out of the delegation of seven, after the Court agreed the state had racially gerrymandered.
