I still have some commissions uploaded as PNG in my online galleries because, well, "lossless is good" and all.
But I think I'll finally replace them with 90 - 95% JPGs because I can REALLY not see any difference with them and I assume the people browsing the gallery will appreciate having 800KB traffic/downloads instead of 9MB per image. 😅
Even 100% JPGs of them barely have more than 1MB.
Will also make just browsing it more pleasant with slow connections.
@ubo I personally think we should be open towards "new" formats like that. People often hate on WebP and WebM because I guess they still think in the days where software support was horrible.
So, I'm personally open for it.
In my specific image case WebP is still about 1MB bigger without any perceivable, visual improvement and, well, at least one site doesn't support it, so, JPG it is.
But I'm generally not opposed to adopting new stuff, as long as it's a free and open standard. 🙂

Total häufig bin ich unterwegs, schon total reizüberflutet und Menschen schicken Nachrichten ohne Ende.
Ich kriege das nicht zusätzlich alles abgehört, das zieht zu viel Energie 🫠

These people are so ridiculous and disappointing.
I hate it & it really angers me how we're all so dependent on such powerful assholes who can so easily dictate their views.
We need our own payment provider "with blackjack and hookers"! 😡
Seriously, so many things can be self-hosted or have independent, decentralized open-source alternatives now.
We need that for money/payment.
Maybe we should in the end go for a less fucked-up cryptocurrency? But of course those also have problems and, for valid reasons, not the best reputation.

Ich habe gerade für nen 20er Call Of Duty Black Ops Cold War gekauft.
Bin gespannt wie gut mir die Kampagne gefällt. MP und Zombies interessieren mich nicht; daher ignoriere diese Teile des Spiels.
Der Speicherhunger ist allerdings auch dann nicht zu verachten.
Kampagne plus hochauflösende Inhalte belegen 175GB Speicherplatz😯
Wenn ich alles installieren würde, wäre ich sogar bei 231GB🤯.

@kuketzblog Für's Auto benutze ich für lange Strecken TomTom, einfach weil es nicht Google ist, ich für längere Strecken aber Live-Stauinfos will, und das gibt es bei den FOSS-Apps leider nicht soweit mir bekannt. 😢

I just saw this image, in a post that said "ach Apple" (German for a disappointed "oh Apple") with an #AltText of "Battery status indicators displaying 89% for a smartphone, 67% for a smartwatch, 87% for earbuds, and 99% for a charging case."
This is a great example of "has alt text, but the alt text is utterly useless".
Why? Because it fails to explain or even mention the actual point of the image, namely that the visualization of the last percentage is bugged.

Such occasions were one of the reasons why I changed my "only boosts with alt-text" to "[...]useful alt-text". 😅

Same with manually written alt-text that basically only says "an image I drew" or something like that.
Some "AI" things seem to be impressively good with alt-text, but I agree you should always check it, like all the things done automatically. 😭
