This is absurd! There should be no mining in the Upper Peninsula in order to save the environment. Oh, wait! It's a Canadian company doing it. Why not ruin the environment in your own country, not ours. The UP has some of the most pristine wilderness left. I, for one, would like to keep it that way. Apparently our government doesn't think so.

Zoo is having a great day. She has pushed her food bowl around, slept with her archenemy, the cat, and is now playing with a rope toy. If anyone asks, she was a good girl sharing a bed with the cat. She promises.

There is more to this story, but this op ed gets you started. The corruption runs deep in our little township board.

@caban4 October is a great time. We will be leaving there in November before winter really sets in. Of course it never really did this winter...

You might be able to see the northern lights over Higgins Lake tonight. I hope someone gets a good picture. I certainly will be fast asleep.

The 16 year old is taking AP Environmental Science. They have the highest grade the teacher has ever seen in an A.P. course.

Off to bed with Ancient History magazine.

Anyone else still read magazines? I love a good history magazine.

I am going to set myself a goal for the end of the week and if I accomplish the task, I am going to buy myself a cross stitch kit. I have been wanting to cross stitch again (my mom taught me when I was young, but as I aged I found other things to spend my time doing). Thinking it might be fun to try a small kit again.

I can't believe I am going to be in the Upper Peninsula by the end of this week! Last year we didn't go up there full time until late May.

@JohnJBurnsIII It looks like we will miss any weather coming. It's supposed to rain Tuesday, but we will be heading up Wednesday afternoon.

The first freighter of the season has gone through the Soo Locks. Now it's spring.

We have an office in downtown Sault Ste. Marie and hearing the freighters go through takes me back to my first days in the Soo back in 2003. It took some getting used to, but then it was just background noise.

How long should an ounce of weed last?

Five days until cabin time! Five days!

I love that the whole family is remote and we can be anywhere we want to be. I think it might be the best way to live.

What are you reading?

CindySue,
@CindySue@bookstodon.com avatar

@Likewise I vividly remember reading Firestarter in the 4th grade. I would sit inside during recess to read.

CindySue,
@CindySue@bookstodon.com avatar

@Likewise It was a good one from what I remember, but I may be biased because my memories of it are good ones.

CindySue,
@CindySue@bookstodon.com avatar

@Likewise Make no mistake. I read my fair share of Sweet Valley books and Babysitter's Club. I read anything I could get my grubby hands on.

CindySue,
@CindySue@bookstodon.com avatar

@Likewise @dbsalk V.C. Andrews! My mom and I used to buy them up at garage sales and pass them between the two of us. I have read most of the ones written prior to probably around 1996ish.

I got this from the PM Press 70% off sale. I am on the second story, Women of the Doll, and enjoyed the first, Walk Like A Man.

I keep going back and forth on if I want to go to the township meeting next week or just go up north Wednesday night. The township meeting should be quite interesting. Anyone want me to do a video? It's like Jerry Springer up in there.
