We added a beagle mix rescue puppy to our family yesterday (someone left 6 puppies on the side of a road in a box marked “free puppies” 😢) and he’s a sweet guy.
Please help out dog rescues/rescue dogs if you can. So many need help. And excuse me if I’m here a lot less for awhile.
If Trump is reelected, I anticipate that one of his initial actions may involve significant changes to the Supreme Court. This could potentially be part of a broader strategy to consolidate power and establish a more authoritarian style of leadership.
Sorry, Republicans. Donald Trump isn’t the only person on the planet with executive privilege.
Maybe they could go out and put something together for infrastructure, education, housing, jobs, manufacturing, climate change, or healthcare today. You know, do their jobs.
It is concerning to observe the current state of affairs within our legislative body. I fully agree that republican representatives must prioritize their duties and responsibilities rather than engaging in unproductive behaviors or deferring to external influences, i.e., their former crime boss. It is essential that they fulfill their obligations to the people they serve and work towards the betterment of our society.
Federal judge halts new U.S. rules limiting credit card late fees ...
This is another reason why voting for a party that has your best interest (Democrats) is so important.
Republican’s have spent decades reshaping the courts because they knew the demographics were changing and their unpopular ideology was losing them votes and races.
So ... they devised a plan to be able to supersede laws they don’t agree with appointing judges in favor of their agenda.
Fast forward to now. Every time a Democratic administration attempts to do something good for the people, it is struck down by the courts
If the SCOTUS can strike down Roe, then anything can happen.
Americans are going to have to feel a lot more pain before they understand what’s going on. Then it will be too late. But there’s still a slim window to fix things, and that's by voting all Republican’s/MAGA's out of office.
Republicans’ declarations of support for Israel are simple to see through, but this is a good run down on most of the antisemitic tropes I’ve been seeing all my life.
So, don’t believe anything Republicans are saying about it. However, if you read it, you’ll see some portion of the left is using antisemitic tropes, also, over and over. Antisemitism is antisemitism. There’s no excuse for it.
History repeats itself ... Rachel Maddow in her podcast Ultra and her book Prequil present a detailed analysis of the emergence of a distinct American form of authoritarianism that has been present on the extreme right of our political landscape ...A covert network engaged in a widespread disinformation campaign.
This highly organized and surprisingly well-funded campaign sought to undermine democratic institutions, promote antisemitism,
and erode citizens' trust in their elected leaders, with the ultimate objective of overthrowing the U.S. government and establishing an authoritarian regime.
Fediverse: Trump did something- 1 billion posts and boosts.
Account on a supposedly well-moderated instance: “Jews only get Germany, maybe half.” (Maybe know what happened there and not where they’re all from anyway, dumbfuck.) - total dead silence here.
Thanks to President Biden for continuing to deliver on student loan forgiveness.
This will free these people from debt incurred due to fraud and help them with necessary and discretionary spending. Overall, this will be a fantastic boost.
I was fortunate enough to be able to pay my loans, but don’t want others to struggle like I did. It’s called compassion with the absence of jealousy.
Like I said before ... How can anyone not be down with this administration?
Not just for student loan forgiveness, climate change policies, common sense gun legislation, voting rights, women's reproductive rights, human rights, veterans.
The list goes on and on and on
Louisiana Lawmakers Move to Criminalize Possession of Abortion Pills ...
Louisiana legislators are proposing an amendment to criminalize the possession of mifepristone and misoprostol, commonly used abortion pills. This unexpected addition to a bill initially focused on criminalizing "coerced criminal abortion by means of fraud" has surprised abortion advocates and OB-GYNs in the state.
