I mean in fairness Australia is a whole ass country

Edit: today I learned Australia also has states :)

Ahh, okay. I didn’t look at the picture very closely; I had no idea Australia had states! Nifty

Nobody makes grotesque amounts of money from that, so we’re not allowed to do that one

I don’t know who mark rothco is, but I really like these ones, there’s something visually pleasing about them

Occasionally a bug or a Nerf dart would end up in ours and you’d smell a gross burnt aroma 😅

In fairness social media already has a problem with creating an echo chamber that serves only to reinforce and exaggerate your existing world view. I think to some extent exposure to perspectives other than one’s own is important and healthy.

Honestly my experience with pop OS hasn’t been great, which is a shame cause I’m rooting for the folks at system76

Though I also think it might be kinda hard to compare performance in that way with respect to the idea of the post, since you often use different applications for the sorts of resource intensive tasks where you see performance impacts, or the cross platform software available may be better optimized for windows. Which is absolutely relevant, it makes no difference to the user, but I think the post is meant to suggest that windows 11 just leaves a ton of performance on the table relative to what windows 11 could be like if it was better made

This is mostly just me thinking out loud into the void, I don’t intend to argue with you, I just like talking to folks and sharing my thoughts

Hope you are well :)

I appreciate your added context and perspective! Thanks for sharing :)

Just because you don’t find yourself needing a given port doesn’t mean no one should have one.

My USB c port broke from being cycled too many times with a stupid headphone dongle, and now I can’t charge it with a cable OR use my god damn headphones. I like my headphones, its obnoxious that I can’t just plug them into the device I want to listen to. I get it’s not relevant to you but it is relevant to many other people which is why so many people are still bitching about it years after almost every manufacturer has removed the port. Every single day its frustrating I don’t have one. Its frustrating when my friends want to play music in my car and they don’t have one.

I got my headphones for Christmas and I LOVE THEM, but I can’t even use them with my phone :(

Brave uses its own index. It used to be supplemented with results from other engines but I believe they have now phased that out.

Brave is the best of the free options in my experience, and it supports “bangs” which let’s you send your querry to a different engine (typing “how far is it to the sun !g” will pass the search to google. Duckduckgo also supports bangs), this is especially helpful for image searches (!gi for google images) since braves image search sucks dogshit 😅

Quant seemed like the second best free option in my experience. Some people don’t like brave as a company for various reasons, so quant may be a good option for those folks. Its my understanding that Mozilla has worked with quant in some way, which is kinda neat.

Both have their own index making them a sustainable/viable option going forward, where meta search engines that use other engine’s results are at the whim of those they fetch the results from (but may provide better results by piggybacking off a larger successful engine)

I had the same problem using droid-ify until I uninstalled openboard for some reason. (Technically I uninstalled the fork that has since turned into helibord, but it was called open board also before they renamed it for f-droid release, so it still showed up as open board in droid-ify, just a newer version)

It did show up in the normal f-droid app for me though

Someone forked the project (made a copy and started making updates and improvements to the copy independent of the original developer) and I installed it directly from the forked github repo, where it was getting updates. But they didn’t rename it until they published it on f-droid, so the app still showed up as openboard on my phone, just a newer version than the one available on f-droid

I mean, he’s responsible for a pretty heinous thing in this instance… It’s not like people are pissing their pants over nothing.

If your company publishes an explicitly fabricated headline stating there was a missile attack that never happened, generated by ai, and then presented to a ton of people on a major social media site, criticism is pretty deserved… (≖_≖ )

A perspective to consider: you speak like there may be nothing else left in you either…

It might be good to step away from the keyboard and go do something to take care of yourself.

I think I get the idea, but I’m not sure the execution speaks to me. The messy paint effect doesn’t feel like it adds as much as with some of the previous ones, and the two obvious visual elements here feel like they could be better integrated in some way (but obviously, whether to care what I think is your choice. Sometimes we just make stuff for the sake of making it, and thats okay)

I look forward to seeing more works :)

My 3Ds has never been played, I assume there’s nothing I can contribute here?

It makes me so happy that his dad accepts the bit and carries on lol

Why would being WebKit based make it bad? Because it supports the web engine duopoly?
