Hey @mekkaokereke, I've read a few of your posts regarding making Mastodon a safer and more welcoming place for new users and I want to help.

Last year I started making a Mastodon client to help transition people over from Twitter, but I think I may have focused on the wrong things (ref @trunksapp).

Do you have any advice, guidance, or resources that you'd recommend a client developer can utilize to help achieve some of the content and community safety goals? Thanks for any input.

Getting up to a year of working on #trunksapp in my free time.

Wondering if I should continue, especially since there doesn't seem to be much growth on the platform or in the overall user base.

Maybe it's time for a new side project - maybe a new mobile game?

I'll take the holidays and think about it.

If I do decide to give up maintaining it, I'll probably spend some time filling out some paperwork at work to open source it.

Some of my favorite highlights for myself:

I helped root the first Barnes & Noble Nook Color and allowed the play store to work on it.

Unfortunately, I caused a significant issue where every Nook Color that was flashed to my hacked build shares the same store identifier.

I'm really sorry if I caused someone at Google an absolute headache.
