🛰28 April: the EU launched 2 new Galileo satellites!

Earlier this morning, the Galileo satellites were ejected from the launcher's upper stage & reached the Holding Point. They are currently managed by as part of the Launch & Early Orbit Phase (LEOP).

What happens now?

Over the following days, the EUSPA LEOP team will be manoeuvring the satellites from the dedicated Control Center in Oberpfaffenhofen, Germany until they are placed into their home orbit at 23 220 km.

EUSPA & UNOOSA just launched the report “Contribution to the Space2030 Agenda – The European Union Space Programme “EU Space” Supporting a world with a global population of 8 Billion people”.

It identifies 8 challenges related to population growth & and addresses long-term sustainable development concerns such as food security, water management, climate change and environmental impacts, showing how can tackle them.

We've just launched the ISAC (Information Sharing Analysis Centre) together with DG DEFIS.

The ISAC will serve as a communication channel for the sector regarding security-related information and sharing of best practices. It will be a membership-driven platform looking to engage industry, public sector and academia to contribute to the security and resilience of the space systems & their supply chain.
