Seems to me that with CodeFactory discontinuing their NVDA add-on for Eloquence, the least they could do is provide all previous purchasers with a 75% discount on the SAPI version. I never bought it myself so this wouldn't benefit me. I'm just thinking about those who did spend the money and now have nothing to show for it.

I just managed to lose almost an entire year of notes, including names, events, thoughts, and family moments. Devistated and demoralized doesn't even begin to cover it. I have tried every backup folder, search, and recovery thought that I know of to find this one file, but when something it gone from the recycle bin, and a program hasn't picked up the data for some reason it's gone forever.

@simon I was using quick notetaker for nvda, but I have having issues with my nvda, so I needed to delete the appdata folder. I think it was several addons that were installer incorrectly because of all the changes. Didn't realize that the data.json file was still in the folder I had deleted until I had deleted it from the recycle bin and then restarted twice. I know I am never getting that file back, and it's my own fault.

ok, something weird is going on with my NVDA. If I leave it alone for a while, I come back to this really high pitched noise. Restarting it clears it up, but ouchy

I might need a new keyboard that is wireless and Bluetooth, which is mechalical, browns or clears, that has a good battery life, and is on the quieter side. I am also looking for something taht is known to stay connected. anyone got any suggestions?

I haven't used Twitch outside of iOS in a long time. It's gotten a lot worse. Some pretty stupid keyboard usage and associated hints that make no sense if you have any idea how screen readers actually work, and at least with NVDA and Firefox, activating the chat tab seems to not work. The unlabeled button to open the player--and its subsequent disappearance after a few seconds--is the icing on the cake. You can tell there's lots of development work going into the accessibility and absolutely 0 testing.

I am about to cancel my Dropbox subscription, which involves clearing out a ton of huge shared folders from my Dropbox. So I'm going to put this out into the world:
If you are the owner of a shared Dropbox folder, I would really urge you to consider sharing it elsewhere, either in addition to or instead of Dropbox. OneDrive, Google Drive, and other storage services allow free users to join a shared folder without filling up their storage. Dropbox does not, because they want people to pay. So many people are paying for Dropbox just for the privilege of having a copy of someone else's folder on their own account. The last straw for me was when I noticed that my family subscription--which costs me over $200/year--was full because I shared a large folder with someone else in the family. Dropbox doesn't store the folder twice, but they count it toward my family storage twice. Meanwhile, every time I log into the website I get a popup telling me I should upgrade to Dropbox for business, for even more money. So I'm pretty much done here. You can try this at home.

@simon Some of the apps I use don't go to icloud, and icloud also doesn't seem to play nice with windows. So if I am trying to get recordings or something off, I need to use dropbox.

I'm glad to see all the witches doing eclipse magick today. Back in the day, and probably still, there's a superstition that any magick done during an eclipse will go ‘haywire.’ I always thought this was kinda silly, cuz conjunctions are usually seen as supportive in astrology. Like, the Sun has got the Moon's back.

Anyways, it's rare that the greater overculture celebrates a celestial event with us, so I say use that momentum and praise the new moon, witches!

I asked several AI services how to compost, but I was not impressed with the answers. Composting is both simple and complicated, with not one recipe or method that works for everyone. AI is not a sustainable solution and contributes to . Not using AI can be seen as an act of resistance.

One of my concerns with AI is that it often provides incomplete answers, despite the race to develop the latest and greatest AI technology. If you want to learn how to compost, it's best to turn to books and your local library, YouTube channels, or websites for guidance.

This is why we created this account - to help those who are interested in composting, especially since there has been a surge in interest due to the pandemic and mandatory composting laws in some areas.

The advantage of using a screen reader, at least in regards to deadnames, is that I can pretty much eliminate it entirely. Just change the pronunciations to make the screen reader think that the deadname is said like the new name, and you've solved a problem. Like yes you deadnamed me, but actually you didn't LOL
