Regarding some fishing by the UK media for people to share experiences about (DIY) HRT that has been making the rounds, I'm repeating something I posted on Bluesky.
Do not engage with Susanna Rustin on any topic, especially those related to being trans or trans healthcare.
The material she's written in The Guardian, the paper most at the vanguard of stirring anti-trans sentiment in the centre left, is not friendly, fair or objective regarding us.
To put it nicely, she approaches the matter in a slick coating of sugar, playing the both sides card, while working tirelessly to try and roll back trans rights, make us seem awful and limit our access to healthcare that is agreed on by the vast medical consensus.
Do not trust her, do not trust the media to speak about trans and non-binary matters in an equitable, balanced and kind manner.
And if you are still reading The Guardian but otherwise consider yourself to be left leaning politically, stop reading The Guardian.
It has done a huge amount of damage to LGBT, especially T, people in the UK and has poisoned discourse, the fight for equality and liberation and progress towards fairer healthcare and laws in many other countries too.
I wouldn't give money to the Guardian, and I avoid their content as much as possible, on principle since they have directly contributed to making the life of trans and non-binary people in the UK worse.
@GlasWolf The hypocrisy from Rishi Sunak has been astounding. He's a vile and horrible man who doesn't understand basic respect for others because he's been insulated by wealth and the privilege that affords. Compare what he has said about Brianna recently and his comments around the Conservative conference.
If Brianna had survived the attack, his biggest worry would be not putting her in a ward with cis women / girls. He's a ghoul.
In 2023, I immediately unfriend anyone who shares pictures of their kids dressed in HP themed costume for Halloween or any other occasion.
If you're still celebrating HP with your kids, then you're clearly not listening to trans people shouting for their lives, and you're clearly not interested in creating a trans-friendly home for your children or their friends.
@revoluciana@robertnorlyn my partner and I sometimes have extra merchandising volunteer work when we visit some shops. Weirdly it always seems to be putting other products in front of HP items.
