This morning I (almost) invisibly mended hole in my stretch leggings

Just sewed a headband (out of a scuba material!! It's v stretchy and slippy and goes through an Overlocker like silk !? ) and made some Rock Cakes (currently in the oven).

This morning I prepped some French bread (currently proving), and now planning dinner..

Yesterday I struggled all day to watch a 15 min instructional video on youtube

Also TWO loads of laundry

Managed to do some mostly invisible mending on some leggings today.

Yay!

Fabric is:

  • 89% Ecovro viscose
  • 29% Recycled Polyamide and
  • 5% Elastane

So nice firm vertical and horizontal stretch

Nice quick tutorial here on how to do the hand stitch.

Sometimes I'll say something online and a Man - it is always a man - will "Well actually .." me, and I can just brush it off because obviously the Man is an asshole, but other times it needles into my brain and I've discovered today that when discussing The Handmaid's Tale anywhere online, Men assume I didn't read the book, this INFURIATES me.

Thinking about the 1900's coin.

Don't think anything else I currently own - aside from perhaps books (if kept correctly) - can feasibly last 120+ years into the future.

This is a sobering thought.

Am I correct in understanding that Pebble beaches (as opposed to fine sand) only occur in colder climates not Caribbean type temperate zones?

Found an old coin when tidying up.

It's a Victorian Penny dated 1900.

Well worn, with a depiction of 'Britannica' on one side and and older Queen Victoria Profile on the other.

Occurred to me today that this coin is (currently) around 124 years old.

Imagine the pockets and people and places it's seen!

I miss Maplins.

Maplins was a UK electrical store chain that sold consumer electronics, and was pretty much the only high street chain for any hobbiest

You could walk into a store with something, take it to back desk - say "what is this and how do I connect it to this and not blow myself up / start a fire" and they could tell you AND sell you the required kit - at a reasonable price!

Nowhere does this any more outside of Maker clubs/groups.

Vampire Survivors has consumed my brain.

New Free DLC [Laborratory] came out 2 and a half days ago and I was getting sooooo frustrated at not being able to clear the level.

I just did it.

I like 90 % of the interactions on mastodon but for the other 10 % - yeeeeeah I really wish there was a 'post only to this group' setting.

Yes I know there is functionality to just use everyone's name/handle and then make a toot private, but that's not the functionality I'm after. I want to be able to add names to a group and then have only those people (and instance admins obviously) see that post

There are fandom / hobby discussions I wanna have without having to fight trolls. Y'know ?

Note to self: You bought your existing mobile phone - Moto g(30) - in Sept 2021.

The battery is slowly getting more and more B0rkked and it's not upgradable :C

Under 4 years seems.. not great for phone lifespan?

Currently running Android 12, with official software updates, but that's possibly due to end soon?

I wish buying consumer tech wasn't made so deliberately opaque.

Activision/Blizzard are a terrible companies, but my heart breaks for the hundreds of cosplayers who have poured untold thousands of craft hours into something, in preparation for an event that has now been cancelled.
